Functional Fitness Family

Meet Our Staff

Amanda

Owner of Functional Fitness

Certified Personal Trainer

I'm a mother to five kids, ages 15 - 2 year old. I fell in love with fitness because I enjoyed how I felt after a workout. I started with running then got into strength training. I love it all! People would ask me "What are you training for? My response always is, "I'm training for the 83 year old me!" I really want to keep going even at 83 years so I'm training my body for that now. I've been a fitness instructor since 2013 and a personal trainer since 2018. I love fitness but most of all I love watching people do things they never thought they could! I have a passion for helping people and enjoy watching them succeed!

I opened up Functional Fitness with the idea of helping people. I wanted to be different than a gym, more personal. I want to offer our community something that was about all around health, not just weights. It's really important to me that we take in consideration of mental health, food health, as well as, strength. Overall health is not about a number on a scale, so many people put their worth on that stupid number. I want to show a different way by highlighting all of the aspects of healthy not just "being skinny". People matter and I want all people to know they have a place here at Functional Fitness. We are not a facility, we are family!

Anna

I'm Anna! I truly believe things happen for a reason and when one door closes another one opens… just a year ago I injured my back, which made me reevaluate my fast-paced workouts and lifestyle in general. My injury really forced me to slow down. To get back in shape, I decided to start on the mat with some yoga stretches and I haven’t stopped since then… I fell in love not only with the exercise and stretches, but even more so with the meditation part of the practice. I found, there is something so powerful about just being on the mat and moving with my breath. And I’d love to share that with you! My yoga is a gentle yoga focused on a good stretch and breathing. My goal is for each one of you to leave my class relaxed and balanced, just as you’d after a day at a spa.

Other than being a passionate yogini, I’m a full time wedding and portrait photographer. I’m married to my high school sweetheart and a mom of two awesome kids! In my spare time I enjoy playing piano, paddle boarding, camping, hiking and biking. Anything outdoors - sign me up! I hope to see you on the mat soon! I can’t wait to share some Zen with you!

I’m Lauren! I'm married with two children, a daughter and son.

I’ve been with Functional Fitness since February of 2021 and have been on quite the fitness journey there! I’ve shed 100 lbs. & I feel the best I ever have! I started dancing at the age of 8 in a classical ballet studio and had the opportunity to train with the Milwaukee Ballet. I took a break from dancing to start our family and got back into it through WERQ. I enjoy learning new platforms for movement and dance and am excited to continue to learn and grow within the fitness community.
